The Pittsburgh Steelers reigned victorious in Los Angeles today.
A game that mattered a lot in the AFC North race, Pittsburgh's foes in Baltimore and Cleveland both had huge victories, making this one all but a must for the Steelers.
Here are the plays that had the biggest impact on the result:
Hello Larry O
Watch the get-off and pocket penetration by Alex Highsmith (#56 here). He narrows the width of the pocket, forcing Stafford to step up and right into the arms of Larry Ogunjobi, who has been having a great in his own right.
The First Of Many
After an explosive camp and an excellent start to his career in the preseason, rookie edge defender Nate Herbig made the most of his snaps earning his first carer sack in beautiful fashion.
His ability to dip his shoulder and flatten the corner is an innate ability that will lend him more opportunities going forward.
Recess Ball
LA got the momentum heading into the second half here, using a broken play to capitalize. This is literally a worst-case scenario for the Steelers. The last thing you want in this situation is a big play.
It's certainly hard to cover for that long, meaning this touchdown is on both the pass rush and the secondary.
No Way T.J.
Watt may be paid top dollar to rush the passer, but that doesn't mean he's a one-trick pony.
Instincts come in all sorts, with T.J.'s nose for the football coming in huge here, especially when you see what happened next:
Kenny Sneak It
Just a simple QB sneak here, it may not have been flashy but it was effective.
An extra point from Boswell would give the Steelers the lead, 10-9.
Puka's A Problem
This was the first of two huge plays from Puka Nacua in a drive that resulted in a TD and two-point conversion for the Rams. One of the better rookie pass catchers in recent memory, he was a problem for Pittsburgh all afternoon.
Welcome Back DJ
Pittsburgh has desperately missed Johnson's ability to separate and create easy yard after the catch attempts like these.
The Steelers had to complete that throw on third down and Johnson showed up when they needed him most, helping to create the TD that would come next:
All Aboard The Warren Express
This was one of the best rushing attempts from the Steelers all year, and it just so happens to result in a TD and from Jaylen Warren nonetheless.
Steel City Shove
It may not have been pretty and it was certainly stressful, but a win is a win and the Steelers head back to Pittsburgh riding high off their time in Los Angeles.
