Dallas Turner Edge Rusher Alabama

Dallas Turner is a true game-wrecker. And that is something the Colts have been looking for since Robert Mathis. Adding a pass rusher like Turner opposite of a player like Kwity Paye could be a match made in heaven for the Colts' defensive line. Turner will certainly meet GM Chris Ballard’s trait minimums for the edge position without being labeled a raw prospect because Turner is ready to play day 1. Dane Brugler of The Athletic shared the perfect stat to prove this.

"Turner is currently the only FVS player ranked top five nationally in sacks (7.0), pressures, pass-rush win rate and pass-rush win percentage."

Dane Brugler

I felt pretty fortunate to land Turner here; I have him ranked as my top-edge rusher in the 2024 NFL Draft, but he ended up being the third off the board here.

There were multiple talented players available that I had to consider before landing on Turner:

  • Rome Odunze WR Washington
  • Malik Nabers, WR LSU
  • Nate Wiggins, CB Clemson
  • Jared Verse, Edge Florida State

In the end, Turner was just too good of an opportunity to pass up. I believe the WR and CB classes are deeper than the edge rusher position this year, so prioritizing edge rusher early would still leave the Colts multiple great options on day two to add to their WR room.
