Sometimes you have to take the good news with the bad news and that’s the case in Cleveland today.
On Thursday, the Browns got CB Greg Newsome II (groin) back at practice after he missed the Week 9 game against the Cardinals. Also returning to practice were TE David Njoku (knee) and RB Pierre Strong Jr. (hamstring.
Unfortunately for the Browns, impressive rookie RT Dawand Jones remains out. Along with Jones not practicing is WR David Bell (new) and WR Marquise Goodwin (concussion).
With Newsome returning to practice with still another practice to come on Friday likely means he will be good to go against the Ravens in Week 10. It is big news for the Browns, who lost rookie CB Cameron Mitchell to the injured reserve for at least four games. Mitchell started for Newsome last week in the slot.
If Jones is not able to go on Sunday, the Browns will be working with two backup tackles. Jedrick Wills Jr. won’t return till December at the earliest, as he has an MCL injury that put him on the IR.
Cleveland looks to be going with James Hudson at right tackle and newly signed Geron Christian at left tackle.
