The Miami Dolphins kept up their roll today against inferior teams with a beat-down against the Washington Commanders. Washington wasn’t able to put up a fight against the Dolphins on either side of the ball, and a huge reason why was that the Dolphins simply have better talent.
The offense is obviously the star of the show in Miami, and while the high-powered passing attack gets a huge portion of the attention due to the presence of Tyreek Hill, the rushing attack is stellar and deserves a lot more praise.
Raheem Mostert has been one of the most successful running backs in the league this year. De’Von Achane has been one of the most explosive backs ever when he is healthy, but that when has been a big issue. However, it looks like Achane is back to full strength and ready to go for the most important stretch of the season.
Achane’s injuries have been the only knock against him this season. The rookie dominates when he plays, but he just hasn’t been able to stay on the field.
After starting out strong, Achane missed several games due to injury. After this break, Achane was able to finally make it back on the field, but the problems persisted.
Some wondered if Achane really was going to be able to play this weekend when it was announced that he was finally healthy, and that question has officially been answered.
The Dolphins were clearly not very worried about Achane’s health considering he received 17 carries (led the team) to the tune of 73 yards and two touchdowns. The rookie was also able to add 30 yards through the air on three receptions.
If today showed us anything, it’s that Achane is back and there should be no questions about his ability to contribute in the next two games against weaker opponents and the following three weeks against the tougher ones.
The Dolphins are back to having the best running back room in the NFL. That bodes well for the playoffs.
