Cleveland Browns began their work week for Week 16 on Wednesday and it came with injury updates, of course.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said during his media availability that DE Ogbo Okoronkwo has not been placed on the injured reserve with his pectoral injury. This is because there is a small window of hole being held out that Okoronkwo won’t have to have his season ended prematurely.
On Wednesday joining Okoronkwo in not practicing were LG Joel Bitonio (back knee), LB Jordan Kunaszyk (calf), and S Juan Thornhill (calf).
If Okoronkwo is not lost for the season it would be a big win because it was initially feared his season was over. If the Browns have their top backup pass rusher for the playoffs, that is a plus for them.
Against the Bears, Bitonio exited with a back injury and did not return. Michael Dunn took over for BItonio after the exit. The status will be one to monitor this week.
Thornhill did not play against the Bears along with C Ethan Pocic (stinger). Pocic was a practice participant today and should be in line to start against the Texans.

Browns could be receiving an early Christmas present in Week 16
The injury news for Houston lightens the competition for Cleveland.
