The Indianapolis Colts (8-6) will be on the road this week to take on the Atlanta Falcons (6-8) for their Week 16 matchup.
After some good news on Wednesday's injury report following their walkthrough, fans will hope for another positive report following Thursday's practice.
Yesterday's injury report may have only been an estimation (because it was a walkthrough), but it seemed very telling. The Colts essentially told us that they believe Michael Pittman Jr. would have practiced in a limited capacity, and RB Jonathan Taylor would have logged a full practice. Both are better than expected updates from the team. It'll be important to see Pittman Jr. log a practice in the non-contact jersey on Thursday, and for Taylor, the hope will be he can prove the team right and log a full practice.
Thursday Injury Report:
Did Not Practice:
- Jack Anderson
- Zack Moss
- Segun Olubi
- Braden Smith
It's not looking good for Zack Moss or Braden Smith, as the only have one more opportunity to practice this week. Without Moss, the Colts would likely look to Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson to backup Jonathan Taylor (if he can play). It would also mean another start for rookie Blake Freeland if Smith cant go.
Limited Participant:
- Matt Gay
With Matt Gay's recent struggles, him popping up on the injury report explained some things. Being a light participant today makes me wonder if the Colts should look to add a practice squad kicker just in case they decide Gay can't go.
Full Participant
- Eric Johnson II
- Michael Pittman Jr.
- Jonathan Taylor
Seeing both Michael Pittman Jr. and Jonathan Taylor log full practices was huge for the Colts. Both seem on course to play this week. And with them being the two best offensive weapons, it is a huge boost.
