While the Pittsburgh Steelers were in the middle of their first official interview for the vacant OC position, the Las Vegas Raiders were busy hiring one of their own.

Per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Media, the Raiders are hiring Steelers Assistant DB Coach Gerald Alexander to coach their safeties:

A Different Shade of Black

The Raiders are getting an excellent hire via new safety coach Gerald Alexander. Not only is Alexander a former NFL DB himself, but he has also coached two of the best safeties in the league over the past few years.

Alexander started his NFL coaching career in 2020 with the Miami Dolphins, helping oversee the development of star safety Jevon Holland.

He would then join Pittsburgh in 2022, coaching Minkah Fitzpatrick to arguably the best season of his career when he earned Pro Bowl and first-team All-pro Honors.

So it seems like yet another step in the right direction for a Vegas team looking to turn over a new leaf and re-instill championship manta.
