The Detroit Lions are releasing Cameron Sutton after the cornerback had an arrest warrant out in Florida for domestic battery by strangulation.

Sutton was about to enter the second year of his three year deal that the Lions signed him to after the 2022 season. Sutton was expected to have a much more productive season in 2024, but the Lions obviously now turn to a different player.

Sutton played 17 games for the Lions in 2023 and recorded one interception. He allowed 60 receptions for 889 yards and five touchdowns as well.

The Lions will now likely turn to the 2024 NFL Draft in their search for a replacement. Newly signed Amik Robertson has a real shot to take Suttons spot as well. He has plenty of experience as a starter on the outside.
