For Milroe, this should be a setting where he thrives. Routes on air, 1 on 1's, and in team period with no real rush. He should be able to show off his arm talent, make throws on the run, and show his scrambling ability when the play breaks down.
Instead, he spent most of the day throwing to check-downs when he made completions, dirting the ball to his pass catchers. He even ended practice on a sour note with a bad INT…
To play Devil's Advocate, day one of the Senior Bowl is a grace period for everyone, and teams will grade on a curve compared to the full body of work. You're playing with new WRs, taking snaps from a center you don't know, and being coached by NFL personnel that Milroe may have never even heard of before this week.
But Mobile was and still is a place for Milroe to shine. Outside of Cam Ward and Sheduer Sanders the race for QB #3 is wide open and two players via Milroe and Dart are in Mobile to battle it out.
So Wednesday and Thursday will be pivotal for the talented signal caller. Everyone knows what he brings in terms of tangible traits. Teams know how good of a person he is and how high his character is.
But when you are having issues even getting the ball to your pass-catchers during the routes on the air portion of practice (just QBs and pass catchers) a lot of teams are either going to confirm their priors or take a long hard look in the mirror when it comes to his draft stock.
