Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown named his Top 5 wide receivers during a recent episode of NFL insider Jordan Schultz’s “The Schultz Report” podcast, and the first guy that popped in his head is one that he’s about to face in a few weeks.

Denver Broncos’ Patrick Surtain II is the guy who locked in the No. 1 spot on Brown’s list.

The other corners on Browns list include Pittsburgh Steelers’ Jalen Ramsey, Philadelphia Eagles Quinyon Mitchell, and Houston Texans’ Derek Stingley Jr.

A.J. Brown Lands on Patrick Surtain’s Top 5 List Too

Surtain, 25, entered the 2025 season after earning NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors last fall for recording 45 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and four interceptions, including one that he returned 100 yards for a touchdown.

So far this fall, Surtain has logged 11 solo tackles, 11 total tackles, and two passes defended.

Surtain was injured during his most recent outing against the Indianapolis Colts after exiting early with an ankle injury, but he was ultimately cleared to return to the game. There hasn’t been much of an update on his ankle since, so it sounds like it might not be too serious.

Something to take just day-by-day and see how it goes, but it’s nothing crazy,’’ Surtain told reporters at Lucas Oil Stadium after Denver’s 29-18 loss. “So I’m just going to get treatment and feel better.”

Surtain has at least three weeks to heal before facing Brown, who happens to be No. 3 on his Top 5 list of wide receivers.

Similar to Brown, Surtain shared with Jordan Schultz on The Schultz Report” podcast his top five wide receivers, and Brown came after Cincinnati Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase and Dallas Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb.

Brown also put himself third when he named his own Top 5 wide receivers.
