Minnesota Vikings Injury Report: Christian Darrisaw among multiple Vikings who receive good news
Things are looking up so far for Christian Darrisaw
The Minnesota Vikings are decimated by injuries heading into their Week 3 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The highest profile of those injuries is starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy. He is primed to miss 2-4 weeks and was seen in a walking boot at practice.
Week 3’s first injury report is out, and it’s 12 players deep.

Christian Darrisaw full participant in practice
It’s a good thing that Darrisaw was a full participant in practice, but he also was last week before the 22-6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Head coach Kevin O’Connell highlighted the difficulties with his recovery.
“He should have a full participation day today, and we’ll see where he’s at,” said O’Connell before practice on Wednesday. “I think he’s been progressing on the timeline with the injury he had. I think he did such an unbelievable job throughout the offseason, and getting to a place where he was medically cleared to do some things. I think Christian’s expectations and desire to be out on the field is driving everything right now, and he’s continuing to try to get to a place where not only he’s comfortable with that, but he feels ready to go for what’s out in front of him. And what that means for this weekend remains to be seen.
“It is an ongoing process, and one that we all knew was coming and expected, but I totally understand the uniqueness to a guy participating, questionable, out. There really is nothing but a standard rehab process going on that the player has absolutely done a phenomenal job, but we’re still ultimately going to have a collaborative approach to each and every game and each and every day as part of a plan that gets set forth by the medical folks and people that I have total trust in to guide the way, along with Christian having a major role in it as well.”
If Darrisaw plays, the offensive line will immediately see improvement, especially with Skule and Kelly likely missing the game with concussions. Friday’s injury report is going to tell us more, especially because we need to see how Darrisaw responds to a full day of practice and if we see a potential setback.
