Tennessee Vols fans need to go ahead and prepare themselves for a potentially uncomfortable situation in Knoxville with Peyton Manning in 2026.
On Tuesday evening, the SEC announced each program’s conference opponents for the next four seasons.
Tennessee is set to host the Texas Longhorns in 2026 according to the schedule reveal.
With Texas coming to Rocky Top in 2026, it means that Peyton’s nephew, Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning, will be coming to Neyland next fall (unless Arch declares for the 2026 NFL Draft, which is not currently the expectation).
What Peyton Manning previously said about rooting for Arch Manning against Tennessee
It’s too early to know if Peyton will be at the Vols’ game against Texas next season, but it’s hard to imagine that he’ll pass up a chance to see his nephew play in Neyland Stadium.
Earlier this summer, Peyton was asked who he’ll pull for if/when Arch plays Tennessee.
“I haven’t gotten that far,” said Peyton when asked by The Sporting News’ Bill Bender. “I pull hard for my Tennessee Volunteers every single week, but I’ll be pulling hard for my nephew this year.”
I think this is a game where Peyton will probably try to stay out the spotlight. But I don’t think there’s any doubt that he’ll be rooting for his nephew to have a great game (which you gotta respect — family is family).
Peyton bleeds orange as much as anyone. But it might have a burnt orange tint to it next season when Arch comes to town.
