Despite being hit hard by injuries the San Francisco 49ers remain undefeated heading into Week 4. Next up on the schedule they host the Jacksonville Jaguars and thankfully QB Brock Purdy is reentering the lineup. Unfortunately the team didn’t only get good news ahead of Week 4, as they also learned a star player is being fined by the NFL.

49ers star LB Fred Warner fined by the NFL for illegal act during Week 3

Sep 21, 2025; Santa Clara, California, USA; San Francisco 49ers middle linebacker Fred Warner (54) takes the field prior to a game against the Arizona Cardinals at Levi’s Stadium.

49ers LB Fred Warner is viewed as one of if not the consensus best in the league at his position. While their roster has had to deal with multiple key injuries Warner has been one of the few stable pieces on this team. He has helped lead their defense to still perform at a high level and with Nick Bosa now on the IR he will have to step up even more.

Sadly he hit a bump in the road this week with the news that the NFL was fining him. The NFL is fining Warner $23,186 for what they labeled “unnecessary roughness” due to an illegal use of his helmet. Of the 20 fines handed out by the NFL this week Warners tied for the most expensive.

The team is hosting the 2-1 Jaguars in Week 4, and in a tough NFC West, they need to add as many wins as possible early. Thankfully, as mentioned earlier, starting QB Purdy is back under center, which should go a long way. With the team already dealing with so much adversity, it’s essential that Warner doesn’t let this fine disrupt his recent play. The play that landed Warner this hefty fine can be seen below.
