An elite 2027 five-star offensive lineman is scheduled to visit the Tennessee Vols later this season.

According to 247Sports’ Tom Loy, 2027 five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller will visit Tennessee on November 15 for the Vols’ matchup against New Mexico State.

Hiller, 6-foot-5/300 lbs from Coatesville, PA, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Pennsylvania. He’s also rated as the No. 5 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

Tennessee is fighting an uphill battle to land Maxwell Hiller

It’s obviously great news for the Vols that the program is getting Hiller on campus for a visit this fall.

But Tennessee is a long shot at best to win this recruiting battle.

The Penn State Nittany Lions and the South Carolina Gamecocks are viewed as the frontrunners for the talented offensive lineman.

“On paper, most assume Penn State is nearly a lock to secure his commitment, but that’s far from the case,” noted Loy. “In fact, there are some sources who believe South Carolina is the team to beat right now.”

There’s still a long way to go in this recruiting battle. A great visit in November could help the Vols become a serious threat to land the five-star recruit.
