The Kansas City Chiefs are no strangers to making deals ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

In 2024, they made a splash by acquiring wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round draft pick. Kansas City is once again in the middle of trade rumors this season, specifically in the market to acquire a running back.

Although it has improved a bit in recent weeks, the Chiefs’ rushing attack has left a lot to be desired. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes leads the team in rushing with 222 yards, and starting running back Isiah Pacheco is averaging just 35.7 yards per game. K.C. could definitely use a boost in its backfield, but one name it has been linked to has made it clear that he is unavailable.

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara is likely no longer a trade target for the Chiefs

Many believed Alvin Kamara would be a trade candidate for RB-needy teams since the Saints aren’t going anywhere this year. It makes sense on paper, as New Orleans owns a 1-5 record, and Kamara is a veteran who hasn’t experienced a lot of postseason success.

However, Kamara has been vocal about not wanting to be traded. He even went so far as to say that if he does end up getting delt, he will “just go drink piña coladas somewhere,” per Saints reporter Nick Underhill.

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that K.C. isn’t where Kamara would want to drink those piña coladas. Despite being 30 years old and going through a rebuild, Kamara apparently has no desire to leave New Orleans.

It is unknown whether the Chiefs have shown any interest in acquiring Kamara, but they can probably move on to other targets. The team has also been linked to RBs such as Breece Hall of the New York Jets and De’Von Achane of the Miami Dolphins. If K.C. wants an upgrade at the position via trade, it will have to do so by the Nov. 4 deadline.
