The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to Buffalo to take on the Bills in a pivotal Week 9 matchup.

As usual, this game will be huge for playoff seeding come January. The Chiefs remain in good health overall, but were down a couple of offensive starters during Wednesday’s practice. As for the Bills, they are very thin along the defensive line. Let’s examine their first injury report of the week as the prepare for the Bills.

Observations:

  • Jones missing Wednesday’s practice doesn’t bode well for Buffalo, as it already has two other DTs on injured reserve in Ed Oliver and T.J. Sanders.
  • Palmer missed last week’s game against the Panthers, and if he can’t log a practice this week, he’ll likely be out against the Chiefs on Sunday.

Observations:

  • Still no Simmons as the Chiefs begin preparations for the Bills. It appears he’s heading toward missing his fourth consecutive game as he continues to deal with a personal family matter.
  • As expected, Pacheco missed Wednesday’s practice. He has been labeled as “week-to-week” with a sprained MCL, putting him in serious jeopardy to miss Sunday’s game.
  • If Brown’s illness is not too serious and he’s able to practice on Thursday or Friday, he should be good to go against Buffalo.
  • Smith returned to practice after missing all of last week and sitting out Monday night’s game against the Washington Commanders. Things will be touch and go with him leading up to Sunday’s matchup.
