The Cincinnati Bengals are through with practice leading up to Week 9’s matchup against the Chicago Bears, and two of their most important players are set to be game-time decisions for Sunday.

Observations

  • Quarterback Joe Flacco (shoulder) is officially questionable after not practicing Friday. He only practiced once this week, and while he told reporters Friday he feels good, he remained non-comital about being able to play Sunday. “If I’m out there, I’ll treat it just the same,” Flacco said.
  • Head coach Zac Taylor later confirmed to reporters Flacco’s status remains up in the air. “We’ll see how it goes,” Taylor said. Jake Browning would get the start if Flacco can’t play, and Sean Clifford would be his backup. Clifford was signed from the practice squad Friday afternoon.
  • Trey Hendrickson (hip) did not practice all week and is officially doubtful. Linebacker Logan Wilson (calf) is in the same boat. DE Cedric Johnson (calf) and LB Joe Giles-Harris were each signed to the active roster to help compensate for potential depth issues.
  • Linebacker Oren Burks (groin) went limited again and is officially questionable along with guard Dalton Risner (illness).

Observations

  • Wide receiver Luther Burden III (concussion) is still in the concussion protocol and is out, but DJ Moore (hip/groin), and Rome Odunze (heel) are both good to go, giving QB Caleb Williams two of his top targets in the passing game.
  • Running backs D’Andre Swift (groin) and Roschon Johnson (back) are both out, which brings Kyle Monangai into the starter’s role in the backfield. Monangai has 186 yards and a touchdown on 42 carries this year.
  • DL Dominique Robinson (ankle) is out and LB Amen Ogbongbemiga (knee) is questionable.
