The Tennessee Vols came up short against the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night in Knoxville.
The Tennessee Vols were unable to capitalize on the incredible atmosphere at Neyland Stadium on Saturday night, falling 33-27 to the Oklahoma Sooners.
Tennessee now has three losses this season, which means the Vols almost certainly won’t be returning to the College Football Playoff in December.
Saturday, however, wasn’t completely fruitless for the Volunteers.
Tennessee Vols land commitment from elite 2027 recruit
2027 four-star offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo committed to Tennessee on Sunday.
“I am very excited to announce my commitment to The University of Tennessee,” tweeted Uwaifo.
Uwaifo, 6-6, 316 pounds, from Murfreesboro, TN, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 13 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 5 player in the state of Tennessee. He’s also rated as the No. 109 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
According to 247Sports’ Tom Loy, Uwaifo committed to the Vols during his visit on Saturday for the Oklahoma game (before going public with it on Sunday).
Landing Uwaifo won’t erase the sting of Tennessee’s loss to the Sooners, but it shows that despite coming up short on Saturday, the Vols’ coaching staff is still recruiting at a high level.
