Oklahoma Sooners defensive lineman makes big statement about Neyland Stadium that Tennessee Vols fans will appreciate
Neyland Stadium was rocking last weekend for the Tennessee Vols’ matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners.
The Tennessee Vols weren’t able to get a win against the Oklahoma Sooners last Saturday night, but the environment at Neyland Stadium for “Dark Mode” was still elite.
Tennessee hosted several high profile recruits for the game against the Sooners. So even though the Vols didn’t leave Neyland Stadium with a win, it was a still a productive night for Tennessee’s football program.
Oklahoma Sooners DL Gracen Halton makes big statement about Neyland Stadium
Oklahoma senior defensive lineman Gracen Halton was asked on Wednesday about the environment at Neyland Stadium for the Sooners’ win over the Vols.
Halton said he hadn’t seen anything like what he witnessed at Neyland Stadium in his four years of college.
“It was a different atmosphere,” said Halton. “In my four years, I haven’t had an experience like that. So just going in there, keeping your head straight, and knowing why we were there, and knowing that we had to win. That was just our mindset.”
Last season, Halton and the Sooners played at Auburn, Ole Miss, Missouri, and LSU (at night). Oklahoma also played at South Carolina earlier this season.
Those are some great SEC venues, which makes Halton’s comment about Neyland Stadium even more meaningful.
