Chiefs get disappointing news in final Week 12 injury report while the Colts are poised to get a familiar face back
The Kansas City Chiefs will be without a key starter on offense for a third consecutive game.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts have released their final injury reports, complete with game status designation for injured players ahead of their Week 12 matchup at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
After some positive news early in the week, Chiefs fans were met with some disappointing news in the final injury report as a key offensive piece is slated to miss his third consecutive game. The Colts, on the other hand, didn’t rule out any players for the Week 12 game.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the final injury report for both teams. Keep in mind that teams can make additions to the final injury report all the way up until kickoff.
Chiefs Friday Injury Report
| Player | Injury | Wed./Thur./Fri. | Game Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| LG Kingsley Suamataia | Concussion | DNP/LP/FP | Questionable |
| WR Xavier Worthy | Ankle | DNP/LP/FP | Questionable |
| LB Jeffrey Bassa | Shoulder | FP/FP/FP | – |
| S Jaden Hicks | Shoulder | FP/FP/FP | – |
| DE George Karlaftis | Thumb | FP/FP/FP | – |
| DE Charles Omenihu | Ankle | FP/FP/FP | – |
| RB Isiah Pacheco | Knee | FP/LP/LP | OUT |
| RG Trey Smith | Back | FP/FP/FP | – |
| RT Jawaan Taylor | Knee / Ankle | FP/FP/FP | – |
Observations
- Chiefs HC Andy Reid ruled out RB Isiah Pacheco during his Friday media availability. His comments on the decision seem to suggest he has a better shot at playing against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving: “It wasn’t a setback. We were just kind of seeing where he was at, trying to give him some work. He did some scout team stuff, and, you know, running around. We just… it was literally just to see where he was at. And I think, I think he’s coming out pretty good right now. So, that’s a plus.”
- The other two players who have seen limited participation at least once this week, LG Kingsley Suamataia and WR Xavier Worthy, seem to be good to go despite questionable game status designations. Each player participated in full on Friday.
Colts Friday Injury Report
| Player | Injury | Wed./Thur./Fri | Game Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| LB Jaylon Carlies | Ankle | FP/FP/FP | Out |
| DE Samson Ebukam | Knee | LP/LP/FP | – |
| WR Anthony Gould | Knee | FP/FP/FP | – |
| DE Tyquan Lewis | Groin | DNP/LP/FP | Questionable |
| CB Kenny Moore | NIR (Rest) | DNP/FP/LP | – |
| CB Charvarius Ward | Concussion | FP/FP/FP | Questionable |
| QB Daniel Jones | Calf | -/LP/FP | – |
| DT Grover Stewart | NIR (Rest) | -/DNP/FP | – |
Observations
- ESPN’s Stephen Holder reports that Daniel Jones took all of the starting repetitions in practice. His calf was evaluated after some complaints, but whatever they found was ultimately of no concern to his ability to start and play on Sunday. We’ll see if it impacts him at all during the game.
- Former Chiefs CB Charvarius Ward is expected to be back for the Week 12 game despite the questionable designation. This will mark his first trip back to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium since leaving the team in free agency. It’s his fourth matchup with Kansas City since leaving (regular and postseason combined).
Kansas City Chiefs News
Dameon Pierce could be the perfect fit for the Chiefs, but only if they make the change that everyone has been begging for
The Kansas City Chiefs should only go after former Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce if they’re ready to get real about running the football from under center.
