There aren’t many rookies in the NFL who are more important to their teams than Tyler Warren is to the Indianapolis Colts. The rookie TE has helped elevate the Colts’ offense more than anyone could’ve imagined. He leads the team in receiving yards and has also been a true difference maker in the run game, thanks to his blocking skills.
He’s played in every single game for the Colts this season. That streak seems to now be in legitimate danger this week, though. The team announced that Warren is now questionable for Sunday’s game against their AFC South rivals, the Houston Texans, due to an illness.

Warren is on a short list of players that I think the Colts would really struggle to operate their offense without. His ability to be a plus in both the passing and running game has been a true asset during his rookie season. QB Daniel Jones has gone to him in some huge moments this year when he absolutely needs a completion.
There have been no more details given on what the exact illness Warren is dealing with at this time. The questionable designation being assigned to him could very well just be a precautionary measure by the Colts. However, the fact that they added him as a late addition to the injury report is still notable.
Warren seems like someone who will try to be on the field no matter what. So, I believe that if he can be out there, he will do everything in his power to do so for the sake of the cult offense. I hope he finds a way to play. They already have a challenging task ahead, taking on one of the top defenses in the NFL, the Texans. Trying to do so without their oh-so-important TE would give the Texans a clear advantage. With the AFC South standings so tight, the Colts simply cannot afford to lose this game.
