Treylon Burks? Former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks. That’s the one!

He was on the receiving end of a catch in Broncos-Commanders on Sunday Night Football that broke the internet at the end of the Week 13 Sunday slate, and a former Titans star was who threw him the pass. It made for a deliciously painful moment for Titans fans across the nation, off the heels of a deeply incompetent loss of their own earlier in the day.

Marcus Mariota connected with Treylon Burks for a miracle touchdown in primetime

In the early window on Sunday, the Titans looked completely listless against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars in an ugly 25-3 loss. Then on Sunday night in primetime, the most Titans thing of the entire day happened: former players absolutely balling out.

Former Titans QB Marcus Mariota hit former Titans WR Treylon Burks in the corner of the endzone on 3rd & goal for an incredible one-handed catch.

It was easily the most impressive catch Burks has ever made in his NFL career, better than anything he did in Tennessee. Many Titans fans marveled at the athleticism of the snag, while others facetiously pointed out how shocking it was that he got up afterwards unscathed. His reputation for falling and getting hurt still follows him from Tennessee, and he actually just had surgery on a finger he used to reel in this catch two weeks ago.

Burks’ first stop since leaving Tennessee has already produced one incredible moment now, and it’ll be interesting to follow his career after flaming out in Nashville. He was released once he healed from a broken collarbone early in Titans training camp this summer.

This catch is drawing OBJ “The Catch” comparisons, which is completely overkill, but it got the attention of Beckham Jr. himself on X.

This was Burks’ second touchdown catch of his career, the first since a December 2022 score that he did not get back up from to continue playing that day.
