The Tennessee Vols are battling one of their top rivals for a UT legacy recruit.
The Tennessee Vols are reportedly battling one of their top SEC rivals for a UT legacy recruit.
Tennessee, unsurprisingly, is one of the favorites for 2027 four-star linebacker Kenneth Simon, the son of former Vols linebacker Kevin Simon.
Simon, 6-2, 200-pounder from Nashville, TN, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 11 linebacker in the nation and the No. 8 player in the state of Tennessee.
Tennessee is battling Alabama for 4-star LB Kenneth Simon
Simon announced a top eight over the weekend that includes Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.
On3’s Chad Simmons, however, noted that “early signs point” to Alabama and Tennessee “being in this one to the end”.
Simmons also noted that Simon made three visits to Neyland Stadium this season and two to Bryant-Denny Stadium.
It’s still early in this recruiting battle, and it certainly seems that Tennessee should be viewed as the favorite. But it’s also clear that Alabama is making the talented linebacker a priority, so the Vols will have to find a way to fend off the Crimson Tide to ensure that Simon wears orange and white at the next level.
