Chargers end Chiefs’ decade-long streak with defensive masterclass that just completely shifted the AFC West
The Chargers have knocked the Chiefs out of postseason contention.
The AFC West is one of the best divisions in football. With that, the continuous strong performances from Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers are only more impressive. They just defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in a low-scoring, defensive battle on the gridiron that headlined the Week 15 matchups for more than one reason.
Chargers eliminate Chiefs from playoff contention in Week 15
The Chargers have ended a potential dynasty’s postseason run. For the first time since 2014, the Chiefs are not going to the playoffs. The Chargers’ two wins over KC have played a huge role in eliminating one of the AFC’s best over the last decade of play around the NFL.
During the defeat, Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes also suffered a torn ACL. It was an awful aspect to the game that could affect next season for the Chiefs as well.
Not only did the Chiefs officially get eliminated from playoff contention for the first time since 2014 with a loss to the Chargers, but their star quarterback suffered an apparent left knee injury late in the game. The season is lost, and Mahomes appears to be lost with it. It’s a painfully brutal, yet fitting end to a season that hasn’t gone the way of Kansas City at any turn. — Charles Goldman, A to Z Sports

The Bolts will look to finish this campaign strong and clinch a playoff berth ahead of the final weeks of the regular season.
