Cowboys receive a big boost minutes before primetime matchup vs Vikings thanks to gameday inactives announcement
The Dallas Cowboys revealed their gameday inactives minutes before kickoff versus the Minnesota Vikings.
Ninety minutes before kickoff, the Dallas Cowboys announced their inactive players for their Week 15 showdown against the Minnesota Vikings.
And while there are not many surprises, the Cowboys confirmed one of their best players is ready to go for Sunday Night Football. And he’s someone we’re waiting for to have a breakout game in 2025.
TE Jake Ferguson is playing vs Vikings
Ferguson was listed as questionable on the Cowboys’ final injury report with a calf injury that kept him out of practice on Thursday. However, he’s active and ready to go for tonight.
Ferguson’s season has been decent in terms of catches (he entered Sunday ranking second in the league with 75), but the playmaking has been inconsistent. Ferguson is struggling to get yards after the catch. That’s something that needs to change for this Cowboys offense to reach its full potential.
Against one of he best pass defenses in the NFL that aggressively gets after the quarterback, Dak Prescott will need Ferguson to step up as a security blanket.
Full list of Cowboys’ Week 15 inactives
- LT Tyler Guyton
- DT Jay Toia
- RB Jaydon Blue
- WR Jalen Tolbert
- DT Perrion Winfrey
Other notes on Cowboys inactives
- Guyton is missing his third consecutive game, which raises concerns about the Cowboys’ pass protection. Last week, backup Nate Thomas struggled to keep Prescott clean in the pocket. You can expect Vikings DC Brian Flores to zero in on that side of the offensive line.
- DE Jadeveon Clowney is back from injury, as expected. The starting veteran should make a major difference compared to last week.
- This will be Tolbert’s third game of the season as a healthy scratch. Ryan Flournoy has ascended as the team’s WR3 in the meantime. Additionally, this is the second consecutive game Jonathan Mingo is active, a first this season.
- CB Trevon Diggs isn’t on the inactives list because he remains on Injured Reserve. It’s looking unlikely Diggs will be activated this season.
