Eagles star CB Quinyon Mitchell just challenged the NFL again and awaits the award he deserves this season
Quinyon Mitchell has proven himself to the NFL once again.
The Philadelphia Eagles defense has been a massive strength for much of this season, even with concerns about depth. The Eagles front office addressed their pass rush at the trade deadline, and they should get healthier along the DL over the next couple of weeks. On the back end, the cornerback play has been great for the most part, and their top coverage man is showing his elite talent on a weekly basis.
Quinyon Mitchell proves again that he is an All-Pro talent vs. Raiders
The young cornerback is proving that last season’s success was a no fluke. Mitchell has been one of the best defensive backs in football so far this campaign, and his latest performance was another standout day. Mitchell allowed one catch for seven yards against Las Vegas.
Mitchell was targeted just twice and allowed a 58.3 passer rating. Teams understand they cannot find success when they throw toward him in the passing game, so they are simply choosing not to right now. Mitchell has not allowed a touchdown through fourteen games this season.
Garnering an All-Pro selection should absolutely be on the table for the Eagles defensive back. The NFL must take notice of his consistency at the position, due to the widespread lack of it around the league at cornerback. Usually, it is a week-by-week management around the NFL when it comes to secondary play. Philly hasn’t had to worry about Mitchell or slot CB Cooper DeJean nearly at all this season.
Over the final few games, strong performances should prove to be plenty for Mitchell to get picked for the Pro Bowl Games, as well as earn his first nod as an All-Pro. For the Eagles, they are hoping they can give him a second Super Bowl ring in his first two seasons as a pro.
