The Philadelphia Eagles are no stranger to doubt or expectations that aren’t quite realistic. This season, they have had some ups and downs, but overall, it has been another campaign where they’re inn the NFC East title run (and leading it). The defense has emerged as the dynamic strength of the roster, but they will need the offense to look more like it did in Week 15 against the Las Vegas Raiders than some prior weeks.

Eagles guard Landon Dickerson didn’t hold back when asked about quarterback Jalen Hurts this week.

Landon Dickerson puts a halt to Jalen Hurts doubt during media availability

When asked about Hurts bouncing back in Week 15 from a rough stretch recently, the Eagles offensive lineman was quick to deflect that aspect. He isn’t expecting Hurts to be perfect, and the media’s demeanor toward his QB felt a bit unfair to him, clearly. Dickerson wasn’t

Dickerson’s comments showed a bit of emotion that you can appreciate from a key piece upfront. He isn’t allowing the sort of offhand disrespect trickle in for the guy he is working to protect on a daily basis, and that’s commendable.

Hurts did suffer an ankle injury during the victory over Vegas, but he doesn’t seem concerned about it. It is not expected to affect his availability as of now. That’s good news for Philly, regardless of the faith in backup QB Tanner McKee.

No matter what – the last two weeks has made plenty crystal clear inside the Eagles locker room. Dickerson joined wide receiver Devonta Smith as strong defenders of the quarterback.

He’s got tons of support around him. Not to mention, “Hard Knocks” also unveiled a cool, emotional moment between Hurts and head coach Nick Sirianni.
