Tyreek Hill wastes no time in responding to Tua Tagovailoa’s benching on social media with a cryptic image
The Cheetah put up a simple but eyebrow-raising post on Twitter (X) shortly after news of Tua Tagovailoa’s benching became public.
The Dolphins’ 2025 season reached its realistic end on Monday night in Pittsburgh, with Miami falling to the Steelers 28-15. The loss dropped Miami to 6-8 on the season and officially eliminated them from playoff contention.
Miami’s struggles in Pittsburgh were in no small part due to the struggles of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and Mike McDaniel addressed that this week by saying everything was on the table regarding a possible QB change.
Well, McDaniel wasn’t bluffing as it turned out, as the Dolphins are benching Tua and turning to Quinn Ewers for Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
It remains to be seen what kind reaction that will generate inside the Dolphins’ locker room and what level of play Miami will get on the field.
However, one player made his feelings known about the move on Wednesday morning on Twitter (X). Tyreek Hill posted a .gif image of a man disappearing with the peace sign.
Tyreek Hill posts a cryptic tweet after Tua Tagovailoa’s benching
Hill, who suffered a torn ACL against the Jets back on September 29, has made it clear that he loves to troll on social media, and he does it regularly. So, it’s not completely possible to know at any given time if he’s pulling chains or truly expressing his feeling or intentions.
However, if the latter is true, then the message doesn’t take a rocket scientist to read between the lines. Hill’s footing with the franchise has been on very shaky ground since he pulled himself from last year’s season finale against the New York Jets and said he was “done” afterwards. He ultimately stayed and worked to patch things up with his teammates, but it certainly casted a shadow over the prospects of his longer-term future with the franchise.
A return by Hill for Miami in 2026 seemed cloudy even before the news of Tua’s benching thanks to contractual and health concerns, although it’s not out of the question. But his latest social media now further fuels the speculation that Dolphins fans may have seen the last of the Cheetah in a Miami uniform.
