The Kansas City Chiefs are likely going to beat the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in the final game of the 2025 season. It’s a season everyone will like to quickly forget; however, at least they’re going out with a bang.

Well, some would rather lose this game because it helps them get a better pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, the Raiders are bad, very bad, and fighting to keep that No. 1 pick, so that would be hard to do. That’s the narrative, though, the Raiders rolling over and tanking for that high pick. The Chiefs are falling for that narrative, and they won’t let a bad Vegas team catch them by surprise.

The Chiefs are aware that Week 18 may be a trap game

“It would be huge. At the end of the day, it’s an AFC West opponent. It’s a rivalry game versus the Raiders. Both teams are going to come out swinging,” quarterback Chris Oladokun told reporters on Wednesday.

“Obviously, the narrative is that the Raiders are going to lay down because they want the number one pick, but that’s not going to happen. The Raiders are going to come out there; they play really hard, their defense is really good, and they have a really good DC in (Defensive Coordinator) Patrick Graham. None of us expect them to lie down, and we’re both going to be playing to win.”

The Chiefs, while it may seem like they’re going out there to tank at times, do want to win games. Yes, losing helps them more, but winning helps too. Trying to lose is not in any of these guys’ blood. It’s not what any of them know how to do. So, naturally, they will try to win this game anyway. However, I’m not sure they have to worry about anything.

Las Vegas and the New York Giants were in a battle for the No. 1 pick last week. Whoever lost that game got the pick, and the Raiders ended up losing 34-10. New York was considered the worst team in football before that game. Now, it’s apparent that Vegas is. On the Chiefs’ side, they almost beat one of the best teams in football, the Denver Broncos. This is a game KC will likely win easily.
