Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo is set to interview for an open head coaching position after the season ends
Colts in danger of losing a key member of their coaching staff as an NFC team is set to interview him for their open head coaching position.
It’s been an up-and-down season for the Indianapolis Colts defense during Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo’s first season with the team. The team needed a fresh defensive philosophy, and in my opinion, he did a great job changing things in Indy.
The team needs to add more talent to the defensive line for Anarumo to reach his full potential as a defensive play caller, and that should be the goal this offseason. There seems to be a chance that Anarumo lands a head coaching gig, though, which would change everything for the Colts.
Lou Anarumo is on the Giants’ initial list of candidates set to interview for their open head coaching position
There will be multiple teams around the NFL looking to hire a new head coach. One of those is the New York Giants, who already have had their initial interview list reported. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan shared a list of candidates set to get interviews, one of which is Anarumo. He shared one of the reasons for this is his past with the team, as well as a clear connection
“Anarumo, currently the Colts defensive coordinator, interviewed with the Giants during their previous coaching search and impressed. A Staten Island native, Anarumo also has ties to Schoen and the organization, having previously worked there as the defensive backs coach in 2018. His son also still works for the team as a pro scout.” – Jordan Raanan
Losing Anarumo before the Colts could really cash in on his abilities as a defensive coordinator would be disappointing. But he is very respected across the league and certainly deserves it. So, this will be a top storyline to monitor all season long.
