Former Vol LaTroy Lewis is climbing the coaching ranks
Lewis, who had a career-high five tackles in Tennessee’s win over the Georgia Bulldogs in Knoxville in 2015, has steadily been climbing the coaching ranks since his playing career ended in 2020.
The Ohio native joined Akron’s staff as a graduate assistant in 2020 before landing a job as graduate assistant at South Alabama in 2021.
Lewis then served as a special teams analyst at Wake Forest and a graduate assistant at Michigan (Lewis was part of the Michigan staff that won the national championship in 2023). His first on-field coaching role came at Toledo last season.
While at Toledo, Lewis worked under head coach Jason Candle, who was named the new head coach at UConn in early December.
