Bills’ Sean McDermott kicks off the week with an encouraging Josh Allen update that couldn’t have come at a more perfect time
The latest update from Sean McDermott gives the fanbase a big reason to celebrate ahead of the upcoming showdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Finally, some good news is coming out of One Bills Drive. Injuries have derailed the roster this season, so anytime the team gets some good news, it’s an excellent day to be a Buffalo Bills fan.
Latest injury update on quarterback Josh Allen
There are more players on the report than fans would have hoped for, but the biggest update came regarding quarterback Josh Allen. Allen could be seen hobbling out of the tunnel after the win over the New York Jets, as he has been suffering from a nagging foot injury.
Allen was a full participant in practice, an encouraging sign at the perfect time of the season. If the team wants to pull off the upset, they’ll need No. 17 at full health.
Sean McDermott provides a critical injury update ahead of the Jaguars’ playoff game
Not everything is positive for the Bills’ injury front, though.
“Terrel Bernard won’t practice, Maxwell Hairston, Ty Johnson, Matt Milano, Milano is sick [on Wednesday], Matt Prater, all those players will not practice,” McDermott said.
A handful of players were limited in practice, giving fans a bit of unease.
“Limited today will be DQ (DaQuan Jones), Dalton Kincaid, Jordan Poyer, Shaq Thompson, and then we’ll open Damar Hamlin’s window starting today,” McDermott added. “You already know I believe about Jordan Phillips being placed on IR (Injured Reserve), and Dane Jackson signed off the practice squad.”
Perhaps the biggest name on that list is the availability of tight end Dalton Kincaid; the dude just cannot stay healthy. Though the team has long said that its preventative measures stemming from his previous knee injury, this looks like more of the same.
Kincaid is the best option on offense, and when he’s on the field, he’s a true difference-maker. Even in the victory over the Jets, Kincaid made his presence felt in limited snaps.
Another name to keep an eye on during the week is running back Ty Johnson, who is also one of the best third-down backs in football.
Ultimately, while the injury report is far from clean, getting Allen back to full strength changes everything for Buffalo. If No. 17 is truly healthy, the Bills will like their chances no matter who lines up across from them in Jacksonville.
