Former 5-star defensive back is reportedly taking a transfer visit to Tennessee
The Tennessee Vols are still looking for defensive back help in the transfer portal.
A former five-star defensive back is reportedly visiting the Tennessee Vols next week.
247Sports’ Tom Loy reported that Ohio State Buckeyes transfer cornerback Aaron Scott will visit Tennessee next Thursday.
Scott, 6-foot/195 pounds from Springfield, OH, totaled nine tackles as a sophomore in 2025.
The former five-star recruit played under new Vols defensive coordinator Jim Knowles as a true freshman at Ohio State in 2024.
New Vols cornerbacks coach Michael Hunter, who was previously the assistant cornerbacks coach at Ohio State, was with Scott in Columbus the last two seasons.
Scott saw a lot of action on special teams for the Buckeyes in 2025. In October, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day told reporters that Scott was “going to start playing more football around here”.
Tennessee recently landed a commitment from Auburn transfer cornerback
The Vols appear to still be in the market for a cornerback despite recently landing a commitment from Auburn transfer cornerback Kayin Lee.
Lee, a former four-star recruit from Ellenwood, GA, has totaled 82 tackles, 17 passes defensed, and three interceptions during his three seasons at Auburn. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
Rising sophomore Ty Redmond is expected to start opposite Lee for the Vols next fall.
Tennessee, however, could certainly benefit from adding some experienced talent to its cornerback room, which is likely why they’re in the mix for Scott.
