Former Tennessee Vols WR Jauan Jennings was involved in one of the most rare penalties you’ll ever see in the NFL
Former Tennessee Vols WR Jauan Jennings was involved in a huge play in the 49ers’ playoff game against the Eagles.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings, a former Tennessee Vols standout, got a chance to show off his passing skills on Sunday evening in an opening-round playoff matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
In the second half, with the 49ers trailing, Jennings connected with running back Christian McCaffrey for a 29-yard touchdown.
The touchdown pass from Jennings wasn’t the only crazy thing about that play.
Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter was called for roughing the passer after he hit Jennings late.
That’s one of the few times you’ll ever see a non-quarterback on that side of a roughing the passer call.
Jauan Jennings is no stranger to throwing touchdowns
Jennings has thrown his fair share of touchdowns.
The Tennessee native was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback in the 2015 recruiting class. Jennings moved to wide receiver during his true freshman season at Tennessee.
Jennings once threw a touchdown to quarterback Josh Dobbs at Tennessee. The former Vol wide receiver also threw a touchdown in the Super Bowl two years ago.
Jennings isn’t the fastest or the most athletic player on the field, but he’s easily one of the best competitors we’ve ever seen suit up.
Whatever the moment calls for — whether it’s blocking, catching, or throwing a pass — Jennings is ready to deliver.
