The Cleveland Browns have a lot to do this offseason if they want to improve from their 5-12 mark in 2026. First up is finding a new head coach

Second interviews are taking place this week, and all signs point toward the Browns naming a new head coach next week to move on from the Kevin Stefanski era. Once the Browns have a head coach, then it’ll be time to move on to roster improvement.

ESPN names the Browns a team to watch that could trade for Eagles’ A.J. Brown

ESPN listed five teams that could trade for the Philadelphia Eagles’ top wide receiver, and the Browns were one of those. ESPN predicted the Buffalo Bills would land Brown, but Cleveland was joined by the Tennessee Titans, San Francisco 49ers, and Las Vegas Raiders as teams to watch.

Brown is a big-time playmaker, but he comes with the diva nature that many wideouts do. In 2025, Brown recorded 1,003 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Brown has recorded 1,000 receiving yards and seven touchdowns for four straight seasons. Overall, the former Ole Miss product has 1,000 yards in six of his seven seasons.

Cleveland badly needs to bring in talent at wide receiver, and GM Andrew Berry has never been shy of making the big move. Trading for Jerry Jeudy from the Denver Broncos went well in 2024, but then he took a step back in 2025. Cleveland’s best bet is Jeudy being the No. 2 option instead of the No. 1.

Brown comes with the locker room risk, but there’s no denying he’s a great talent. The Eagles can save $7 million on the cap by trading Brown after June 1. The 28-year-old wide receiver is under contract through the 2029 season, when he is 32.

Cleveland’s top pass catcher in 2025 was rookie TE Harold Fannin Jr. with 731 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Jeudy went just over 600 yards, and undrafted rookie Isaiah Bond added 338 yards. The Browns badly need to spark this room in free agency, the draft, or the trade market.

Making a move for Brown would be a big splash for the Browns, but it comes with a risk. Cleveland’s current situation provides no need to make said move, unless they can improve there.
