The Tennessee Vols made a solid addition to their football program on Sunday afternoon.

According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Miami Hurricanes transfer defensive back Jadais Richard has committed to the Volunteers.

Richard is a former four-star recruit who started his college career with the Vanderbilt Commodores.

The Louisiana native transferred from Vanderbilt to Miami ahead of the 2023 season.

Richard, who has one season of eligibility remaining, has totaled 55 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one interception his college career. He played in five games for the Hurricanes in 2025.

Notably, Richard attended the same high school that new Vols cornerbacks coach Michael Hunter attended (West Monroe).

A year ago, the Vols lost defensive back Jakobe Thomas to Miami (via the transfer portal).

Thomas ended up being one of the Hurricanes’ most important players in 2025, earning Fiesta Bowl MVP honors while helping Miami get to the national championship game.

I’m sure Tennessee is hoping that Richard will make a similar impact on Rocky Top after transferring from Miami.
