Tennessee Vols legend Tee Martin is in the market for a new job.

Martin, a former Vols quarterback who led Tennessee to a national championship nearly 30 years ago, was let go by the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday.

Baltimore hired former Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter last month to replace John Harbaugh as the franchise’s head coach.

Minter isn’t retaining Martin.

Tee Martin was Lamar Jackson’s quarterbacks coach during MVP season

Martin, who was an assistant coach at Tennessee in 2019 and 2020, spent the last five seasons on the Ravens’ coaching staff.

The former Vol served as the Ravens’ wide receivers coach in 2021 and 2022 before becoming the franchise’s quarterbacks coach in 2023.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was named the NFL MVP in 2023 with Martin serving as his position coach.

It’s a bit surprising that Baltimore isn’t retaining Martin, considering his close relationship with Jackson. But it’s also not uncommon for new head coaches to make some big changes. Minter, for whatever reason, apparently wants a new voice in the quarterback room. That’s certainly his prerogative.

Martin, meanwhile, should have no issues landing a new job. The former Vol is highly respected for his work in Baltimore over the last few seasons.
