The Tennessee Vols are in the mix to land one of the top players in the 2027 recruiting class.
The Tennessee Vols are among the final schools for an elite 2027 recruit.
Five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller revealed his final four schools over the weekend, and he included Tennessee, along with Alabama, Florida, And Ohio State.
Hiller, 6-foot-5/300 pounds from Coatesville, PA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 10 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
Maxwell Hiller likes what he sees in Tennessee’s coaching staff
One of the main reasons that Hiller has the Volunteers among his top schools is because he likes what he’s seen from Tennessee’s coaching staff.
“With Tennessee, that coaching staff rates really well,” said Hiller to 247Sports. “(Offensive line) coach (Glen) Elarbee sets up a lot of great things on that offense when it comes to offensive line play. How he coaches and the relationship I have with him, and I like what they are doing with freshmen down there, as you can see with Big Dave. A lot of people I have good relationships in high school are big on Tennessee. That’s another reason why.”
According to 247Sports, Hiller will take an official visit to Tennessee from June 12 to June 14.
While Tennessee is in the mix to land the coveted offensive lineman, it’s Florida that’s currently at the top of his recruitment.
It’s unclear when Hiller plans to announce his commitment, but Tennessee will need to nail his official visit in June to keep him away from the Gators.
