ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed that Lewis was fired by the Falcons on Friday.
Lewis, who played at Tennessee from 2012 to 2016, was hired by the Falcons as an assistant defensive line coach earlier this month.
The former Vol originally agreed to take over as UConn’s new defensive line coach in January, but he bolted for the NFL once the Falcons made an offer.
Lewis has also spent time on staff at Akron, South Alabama, Wake Forest, and Toledo.
