4 free agency predictions for the Philadelphia Eagles as Howie Roseman builds another Super Bowl contender
The Eagles need to make some impact moves this week.
Howie Roseman is getting to work. NFL free agency is opening officially on Wednesday, but the legal tampering period will kick off on Monday. We will see agreements in place nearly immediately late in the morning, but nothing will become official until later in the week.
With that, how active will the Philadelphia Eagles be this week? Can they reclaim some Super Bowl pedigree with major signings or a huge trade? We’ll see.
4 free agency predictions for Eagles free agency
Eagles add experienced linebacker but watch Nakobe Dean leave
Dean’s availability has been a concern in the pros, but his deal in free agency is still expected to be a hefty one. It is tough for me to predict that he returns to the Eagles, with them already paying Zack Baun. Add in that Jihaad Campbell was a first round pick last year.
Philly signs veteran cornerback to start opposite Quinyon Mitchell
Adding a proven talent there would allow Cooper DeJean to remain in the slot, where he shined in a major way in 2025. Riq Woolen, Nahshon Wright, and Jamel Dean area ll intriguing names set to hit free agency next week.
It feels like the Eagles understand that A’doree Jackson was not up to par last season, inc comparison to some of the options on the market this offseason. While a return to Philly is possible for Jackson, I feel like they take a bigger swing at the position.
David Njoku or Zach Ertz joins Eagles offense
A Dallas Goedert return isn’t out the window yet. That being said, the chances of that happening have decreased as free agency approaches. Njoku is arguably the most talented tight end on the market and is a physical outlier. He could produce in a major way in Sean Mannion’s unit.
Ertz is coming off injury and could be a cost-saving move for a team like Philly who will want to spend elsewhere in free agency, too.
Reed Blankenship does not return to the Philly secondary
The former UDFA safety became a playmaker in his time with the Birds. Although, I think his asking price may outdo what the Eagles would prefer to pay him.
Andrew Mukuba is a player that the Eagles are excited about, so I could see them adding a veteran type of player on the back end at safety rather than bring back Blankenship.
