Bills QB Josh Allen earns Hall of Fame praise after overcoming late 2025 adversity that felt nearly impossible to escape
Josh Allen got the news he’s been waiting for, and it came from none other than legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady. Quite the sentiment from the inevitable Hall of Famer.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is an absolute warrior, and legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady is taking notice.
Allen broke a bone in his foot late in the 2025 season and wound up playing the remainder of the regular season and playoffs while dealing with the injury. While his loss against the Denver Broncos still stings, and there are plenty of plays he’d like to have back, Allen played more than admirably while dealing with such a serious injury.
Brady was quick to gush about Allen and his adversity during the 2025 season, giving Allen and the Bills a huge win without playing even a single snap.
Brady is a fan of Allen’s game, and is more so a fan of Allen’s ability to withstand such a high-level of pain and keep trucking along.
“The guy could barely walk and he’s out there playing games!” Brady said. “He’s built different.”
That’s not just a compliment, that’s a Hall of Fame stamp of approval from one of the greatest to ever do it. No matter how much it pains me to admit it after years of getting beaten down by Brady in the division, it’s quite the praise for No. 17.
Joe Brady had a lot to say about Allen’s injury at the annual league meeting
It wasn’t just Tom Brady who gushed over Allen’s abilities on the football field while dealing with such a serious injury. Head coach Joe Brady had a few words to say about the 2024 MVP and the drive that he has internally to push through such an injury.
“The thing about Josh Allen, he got surgery after the season, but he’s playing as if you think there’s nothing wrong with him,” Brady said. “The guy could barely walk, and he’s playing games and it’s not impacting [his play].”
It’s just wild that toward the end of the season, his foot was so bad that he could hardly walk, paired with how dominant he looked despite the injury. He went on to play multiple games, coming just short of the AFC Championship game while battling with such a serious injury.
Brady said what everyone was thinking about Allen, and it’s hard to disagree with his sentiment. Joe Brady shared almost exactly the same language that Tom did with his messaging: Allen is a warrior.
“He’s built different,” Brady said. “And let’s hope it continues that way, but he’ll be good to go in the offseason. I talk with him regularly. He’s just excited to get going with guys like DJ Moore, kind of figure what it’s going to look like, just this new kind of era.”
Bills fans should be excited about what’s to come in 2026 with Allen under center
And that’s what should have every Bills fan fired up heading into 2026.
You can talk about new weapons like wide receiver DJ Moore, a new coaching staff, or even a new stadium. None of it matters without the guys under center. If 2025 proved anything, it’s that Allen isn’t just elite when everything is perfect, but he’s at his most dangerous when everything is working against him.
Now, he’s healthy, reloaded, and stepping into a brand-new era of Bills football.
If this is what Allen looked like, barely able to walk, imagine what’s coming when he’s finally at full strength.
