Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are working to flip a 2027 Tennessee Vols commit.

According to On3’s Chad Simmons, four-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife will be in Athens this weekend for a visit.

Fife, 6-foot-5/290 pounds from Summerville, GA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 38 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 37 player in the state of Georgia. He’s been committed to the Volunteers since last November.

Ole Miss is the biggest threat to the Vols for Kadin Fife

Simmons noted on Friday that while Georgia is in the mix for Fife, it’s Ole Miss that looms as the biggest threat to Tennessee.

“Ole Miss currently presents the biggest threat to the Vols (for Fife),” wrote Simmons. “The Rebels are pushing the hardest, but Georgia continues to be involved.”

Fife told On3 in April that his commitment to Tennessee is “strong”, but he wants to make sure he’s making the right decision.

“With Georgia, it’s the development and the standard,” said Fife to On3 of his interest in the Bulldogs. “You see what they do with defensive linemen, and that stands out. I was up there a couple of weeks ago and it was great. They go hard. They’ve been recruiting me hard and staying consistent.”

“I’m still taking visits and seeing everything,” added Fife. “I just want to make sure I’m making the right decision. It is a big decision, a lot of schools are still recruiting me hard, so I want to take these visits and make sure.”

Fife is also scheduled to take an official visit to Georgia on May 29.
