Chaz Coleman landed on a top 10 list after not reporting for summer workouts that Tennessee Vols fans just have to shake their head at
Tennessee Volunteers EDGE Chaz Coleman, a Penn State Nittany Lions transfer addition, has yet to show up in Knoxville for voluntary summer workouts which got underway this week.
It wouldn’t be an offseason on Rocky Top without a little drama.
The Tennessee Vols are currently in limbo as they wait to see if sophomore EDGE Chaz Coleman is going to be part of the team in 2026.
Coleman, who transferred from Penn State to Tennessee in January, missed most of spring practice, and he hasn’t reported this week for voluntary summer workouts.
There isn’t a lot of optimism that Coleman is going to return to Tennessee at this point.
The Ohio native has reportedly been dealing with some off-the-field personal issues this offseason.
Chaz Coleman lands on a Top 10 list that is quite ironic
Just a day after news broke that Coleman hasn’t reported to Tennessee for summer workouts, the Penn State transfer landed on Fox Sports’ Top 10 College Football Breakout Candidates list.
Now, I’m not trying to throw shade at anyone’s top 10 list. It’s the offseason — everyone is making top 10 lists. I’ve made plenty of them, and I’ve made plenty of gaffes in the process.
But come on, the last thing anyone is thinking about with Coleman right now is whether he is a “breakout player” in 2026. I mean, there’s a real chance he doesn’t play football at all this fall. In fact, that feels like the likely outcome in this situation (unless something changes).
We’ll see what happens with Coleman and the Vols. But for now, the only “breaking out” that Coleman may be doing is breaking out of Knoxville.
