2027 4-star Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback commit just proved why Kalen DeBoer went and got him during Elite 11 Finals
One of Alabama’s prize commits for the 2027 class just showed everyone why the Crimson Tide is so heavily invested after his performance at the Elite 11 Finals over the weekend.
How do you know you have become quarterback U? Well, the end goal is to have the signal callers become first-round draft picks when they head to the NFL.
But that starts with securing commitments from elite signal callers across the country. In the case of the Crimson Tide, Alabama has not one, but two in its 2027 class with Elijah Haven and Trent Seaborn. It just so happens that both of them were at the Elite 11 Finals this past weekend, and while Seaborn may have four stars compared to Haven’s five, he looked pretty good in his own right.
Trent Seaborn 2025 stats
- 3,692 passing yards
- 5:1 TD-INT ratio (35/7)
- 71.5% completition percentage
Trent Seaborn puts together strong performance at Elite 11 finals
“Trent Seaborn was comfortable during his pro day workout, setting the pace as the second high school participant on Saturday night, showing good timing and very strong accuracy. The Alabama commit continued to deliver well-placed, catchable throws for the second straight day. “
“He had great location targeting a dig route that requires anticipation, had quality zip on a flag route off of play action, and dropped the football in the receiver’s hands on a deep post. Seaborn is at his best when working as a distributor on Friday nights and that skill set was evident on Day 2 of the Elite 11 Finals.” – Charles Power, Rivals
Seaborn isn’t the biggest, nor the tallest. He’s not even the most athletic or elusive of the quarterbacks in the 2027 class. You can see the size difference between Seaborn and Haven as clear as day.
Why Trent Seaborn makes perfect sense for Alabama’s offense
But Seaborn has something that can rarely be taught at the quarterback position: elite accuracy. His ability to both layer the football and throw with touch, timing, and pace is off the charts for someone who’s heading into his senior year of high school.
In Kalen DeBoer and Ryan Grubb’s offense, that might as well be the most important trait there is. Alabama runs a ton of NFL concepts that focus on in-breaking patterns. Those digs, deep overs, posts, and drag routes require excellent timing, anticipation, elite footwork, and above all else, ball location and accuracy.
Those happen to be Seaborn’s strengths, and it’s why he was recruited by the Alabama Crimson Tide in the first place.
