Detroit Lions Bubble Pressure Meter: Who’s safe, who’s in danger, and who’s running out of time ahead of the first week of training camp?
Detroit Lions training camp means roster battles are officially here. We’re launching our weekly Bubble Pressure Meter to track who’s safe, who’s slipping, and who’s running out of time.
The Detroit Lions are heading to training camp next Monday, and to go with that, we’re going to be doing a weekly pressure meter specifically for bubble players.
Every week we will list out the players that we consider to be on the bubble, and we’ll add some and take some away as time goes on, and we’ll give each of them one of those weekly bubble pressure scores.
🟢 Safe (Is sitting in a roster spot for now)
🟡 Watching (Has a real chance to push for a roster spot)
🟠In Danger
🔴 Must Have Big Week
With that in mind, here is our first edition of the bubble pressure meter:
Lions Offense

| WR Malik Cunningham | 🟠In Danger |
| WR Tarik Black | 🟠In Danger |
| WR Tay Martin | 🟠In Danger |
| WR Lawrence Keys | 🟠In Danger |
| WR Tom Kennedy | 🟢 Safe |
| TE Jackson Meeks | 🟢 Safe |
| TE Miles Kitselman | 🟡 Watching |

| OL Juice Scruggs | 🟡 Watching |
| OT Devin Cochran | 🟡 Watching |
| OT Colby Sorsdal | 🟠In Danger |
| OT Melvin Priestly | 🟠In Danger |
| OL Mason Miller | 🟡 Watching |
It makes sense that we’ll start off with a good number of players that we’re just watching at the start of camp, but we do have some players that are safe in Jackson Meeks and Tom Kennedy. Beware, though, because safe today doesn’t mean safe next week.
There’s a pretty good amount of guys that are in danger right now, but just like safe, a big week to start camp could put you on the other side of the meter and closer to safe. All it takes is some breaking out.

Ahmed Hassanien is the perfect example of how players can be removed from this list over time. Right now, I just want to get to camp and take a look at what the Lions are doing with him and where they have him lined up. He could be gone from the list as early as next week.
I’m clearly buying into the Anthony Lucas hype. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again. I believe he should have been drafted, and it’s crazy he wasn’t.
I’ve got Tyler Lacy safe over Levi Onwuzurkie right now since the Lions had him ahead of the former second-round pick at OTAs and mandatory mini camp. These things can change pretty fast. I’m eager to see how Onwuzurkie looks once the pads come on.
