Tennessee just learned what it’ll cost to steal another 5-star recruit from Ohio State after landing David Gabriel Georges
2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges isn’t the only recruit that Tennessee is hoping to land over Ohio State.
The Tennessee Vols won a massive recruiting battle over the Ohio State Buckeyes this week by landing 2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges.
Tennessee won the battle via the relationships they built with the five-star running back.
NIL, though, was also a factor. The Vols are reportedly going to pay Gabriel Georges $6 million over three years.
Gabriel Georges isn’t the only stud five-star recruit that Tennessee is hoping to land over Ohio State.
2027 five-star EDGE DJ Jacobs, the No. 1 overall player in the nation, has been committed to Ohio State since December, but the Vols are pushing to flip him.
It won’t be cheap, however, to make that happen.
According to On3, Ohio State has offered Jacobs a multi-year deal worth more than $1 million annually.
“David Jacobs, has been locked in with Ohio State since committing in December,” reported On3’s Pete Nakos. “That has not stopped programs like Oregon and Tennessee from trying to flip him from the Buckeyes. Sources have told On3 that Jacobs is set to sign a multi-year deal with Ohio State paying north of $1 million annually.”
Tennessee may have an ace in the hole in this battle as Jacobs recently signed a deal with Adidas.
Adidas helped Tennessee land Gabriel Georges, maybe they can help the Vols swipe Jacobs from Ohio State, too.
