It’s been clear for a while the Indianapolis Colts expect quarterback Daniel Jones to be ready to go for the 2026 NFL season, which is a lot considering he suffered a season-ending injury in December.

However, Jones took it upon himself to update fans on his status entering Colts training camp, and he went into detail of what he expects regarding his mobility and other aspects of his game.

Jones is ready to go for Colts camp

Jones went on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show and immediately addressed his status ahead of the start of camp.

“I’m feeling good, the plan is to be back on eleven-on-eleven, full-team drills on Wednesday when we start our practice,” Jones said. “Excited to be back throwing.”

Jones being ready to go for full-team drills is not a surprise given earlier offseason reports, but it’s no small thing either. Once Jones gets on the field and does it, there will be no room left for interpretation. And it confirms what Colts fans were expecting all along: Danny Dimes is ready to go.

Yet, it doesn’t mean Jones is at 100%. According to him, there’s still progress to be made.

“We have been good to this point,” Jones added. “Still some work to do as we get ready for Week 1 but feeling really good with where I am.”

Jones on his mobility

Though Jones is fully cleared, it’s only natural to ask if he’ll be able to be the same. After all, Achilles injuries are devastating and hard to come back from. Is the Colts quarterback going to be the same despite the quick rehab? His expectation is yes.

“I can do everything, there’s nothing that I can’t do,” Jones said when asked about his mobility.

However, he expects team drills to get him that true 100% feeling of playing again.

“There’s still that last little bit that you’re working to get back,” Jones admitted. “But I feel good in the next month or so as I get into team drills, 11-on-11, doing everything again, with that coming back and feeling 100%.”

Colts veterans report to camp July 28, with the first practice taking place one day later.

Before suffering an Achilles tear, Jones led the Colts offense to a Top 10 ranking in passing EPA/play and success rate.
