Klint Kubiak just revealed some news regarding Maxx Crosby that completely changes Raiders training camp
The Las Vegas Raiders should be beyond fired up after Klint Kubiak revealed that Maxx Crosby will be ready to go full-go on Day 1 of training camp.
On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Raiders held a press conference for rookie head coach Klint Kubiak. With training camp kicking off on Wednesday, Kubiak addressed the media to answer all the important questions. Of course, Maxx Crosby was one of the bigger topics at hand.
After hearing reports that Crosby would be a full go at some point in training camp, what Kubiak said on Tuesday came as a partial surprise.
“He’s ready to go with the ones,” Kubiak told reporters.
Kubiak also said that he will get all the reps with the ones. He’s stuck to the plan, and he is beyond ready. He is recovering from a knee injury that kept him from participating physically in OTAs and mandatory minicamp this offseason. He has been present at the facility to support his teammates and go through stretches, but he hasn’t been doing on-field work.
Maxx Crosby should be ready for Week 1
Based on everything, Crosby should be ready by Week 1, but there’s always uncertainty in these situations. It’s worth remembering what he did last season even while banged up. Crosby recorded 10 sacks in a limited number of games on a bad team while dealing with injuries throughout the year. That kind of production under those circumstances speaks to the caliber of player he is.
The Raiders are going to need Crosby, a healthy Crosby. Even a banged-up Crosby was decent last season. At full health, Crosby is one of the best players in the entire league. This year is crucial. The Raiders have a chance to double their win total from last season. And that may not be too hard, considering they only won three games last season. But to push for the postseason, or at least make their divisional opponents sweat a bit, they will need Crosby.
