Raiders HC Klint Kubiak just delivered some news that has Las Vegas already getting an immediate advantage for Week 3
The Las Vegas Raiders just won their last two games with Brock Bowers out, and now they could be getting the tight end in Week 3.
The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-0 for the first time in a very long time. Even more impressive, they haven’t had Brock Bowers. Bowers may be their best player, and he’s certainly the league’s best tight end. They’ve done it all without him.
In Week 3, they may not have to. Of course, the initial injury diagnosis, or whatever you want to describe it as, was that he was missing just one week. Now, he’s missed two weeks. On Monday, head coach Klint Kubiak told reporters Bowers would practice this week. The hope is that he’s a full go on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
So, this week’s injury reports are going to be something to watch. Specifically, if Bowers is a full go as they think, they have an immediate advantage over the Saints. What’s the advantage? Well, they have the league’s best tight end. The passing game was great last week without him. Now, they’re adding him in.

Raiders’ passing game was elite against the Chargers
The Las Vegas Raiders moved the ball through the air as well as they have in a very long time. We saw plenty of explosive plays downfield. In fact, this isn’t true, but it feels like we saw more in that one game than the entire season last year. The deep ball to Tre Tucker was one of the best plays we have seen from this team’s passing offense in who knows how long.
And Kirk Cousins was precise and effective. The offense moved the ball well, even though the run game didn’t work. Cousins found the tight ends at times, and the receivers did their job to get open. Now, let’s add Bowers to that. It could be a fun Sunday against the Saints. But this isn’t an automatic win. The Saints are a good football team.
