One Vikings player earned honors for game-changing performance against the Bears
It shouldn’t be much of a surprise that Isaiah Rodgers was rewarded for his impressive performance on Sunday afternoon.
One of the biggest plays of the Minnesota Vikings’ season thus far was from cornerback Isaiah Rodgers. He blocked a field goal in the fourth quarter and nearly got to the first one the Bears made earlier in the game. That performance gave Rodgers the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award.
Isaiah Rodgers wins Special Teams Player of the Week award
It was a really impressive play by Rodgers, who rushed around the left side of the line and got the block. He took advantage of tight end Sam Roush getting out of his stance late and got the block.
Rodgers is one of the more impressive additions made by the Vikings over the last few years. He’s been a starting cornerback and has continued to make plays in a multitude of ways. Rodgers is still the first-ever player to achieve a 99.9 Pro Football Focus grade. It’s also the second time he’s won a Player of the Week award with the Vikings.
